It is a beautiful small village near Madrid, it took us around 1 hour to get there. You get the sensation that the village was preserved well only for the purpose of tourism. I mean, I barely noticed anyone really living there or any functional houses used as homes, other than those used as hotels and restaurants. It’s really nice to walk along the stone roads, with houses made of stacks of stones as well. You really feel the antiquity atmosphere, as if you are indeed in the 16-17th century. It is one of my fave small village to visit near Madrid. Just to make the trip worthwile, it would be better to come during the lunch time and to have it in one of the restaurants there. They’re cozy and have loungy feeling, nice to relax while enjoying the view of the surrounding.

Great escape weekend from Madrid center. (40min) It is a beautiful charming town up in the hills. It is truly a hidden gem since not even the troops of Napoleon were able to find it! Haha ud83dude06 it is a small village with its local restaurants and an easy walk around the little town will get you into the feeling of heritage and history from back in the 1600! Get lost into its charming little passages and hills, discover the messages left in its walls and houses, find the cat hiding in the windows and get some aperitivos and tapas in the local bars. For us It was a great birthday celebration with really nice hosts and a total perfect food experience! Even the weather we had in late (November) was great, because we had nice temperature with sun shining and beautiful rays of light! GO FOR IT! It is totally worth it! We will for sure come back at the first chance we have! CHEERS!!
