In 1417, King Alfons el Magnànim recognized the weekly market of Guimerà and, at the request of the people of the town, changed the day of Wednesday from Tuesday, because they did not coincide the same day as the Verdú market.nnThe Guimerà Medieval Market wants to be:nnA cultural project to publicize and propose the revitalization of a people, making the effort to attend to all visitors.nnIt is a great open floor and motto to observe a medieval town, cataloged as a Cultural Good of National Interest (BCIN)nnA meeting point for friends of the surrounding peoples, from other places in Catalonia that show a revaluation of the people of the Guimeranians themselves.nnIt is the effort of a small town with a common goal: there are still possibilities to look in the future with the restoration of houses and the historic center. To continue recovering the heritage inherited it seems that there is an interest in being able to descend to the ice well in the middle of the Plaza Mayor, as a future proposal for the discovery of Guimerà.nnIt is a reality of a project that, with eight years of age, we have been able to be born, grow and now, the most difficult point, to keep.
