Strategic town at the beginning of the Vall Fosca. Exuberant vegetation along with the Noguera Pallaresa river. In restoration I see it lazy

The Lleida-La Pobla de Segur railway line connects Lleida, Balaguer, Tremp and La Pobla de Segur as the most important centers connecting the Pla de Lleida and the Pre-Pyrenees. In 1924 the section was opened to Balaguer and in 1951 it arrived at La Pobla. The infrastructure is owned by FGC (the railway operator of the Generalitat) since 2005. There are 10 daily services per direction between Lleida and Balaguer, 6 of which end their route of the RL1 line, the remaining 4 of the RL2 line continue the route to Pobla de Segur. It takes about twenty-six minutes to take the Lleida-Balaguer route and one hour and thirty-five minutes maximum when traveling in full the path to La Pobla.

Up to here the modern FGC trains arrive from Lleida-Pirineus, passing through Balaguer.nThe famous Tren dels Llacs also circulates here a few months of the year, with locomotives and old wagons.nThe entire route of the Lleida line to La Pobla de Segur is approximately one and a half hours.nInside the station there are public toilets and a tourist office with lots of information and tourism brochures throughout the area. The staff attends you very kindly.nAt the station esplanade stop ALSA buses that can take you to other towns like Sort.
