Nice place to go with family however, I felt it was way too overpriced for it was. There is not a lot to do with kids and they do get bored very quickly. It will probably take you less than an hour to get around the whole aquarium as it’s fairly on the small side and gets crowded very quickly. They need to provide better walk way systems and maybe an interactive play or activity area for kids? Overall, I did enjoy it and if in the area and need to pass time it’s worth a visit.
Its really sad and heartbreaking. I went naively with the idea that it would be more of a sea-life conservatory where animals would be in good conditions, but its not (it was my first time ever in an aquarium). Its a space full of small dirty tanks crowded with sad fishes who only get artificial white light that looks pretty for us to see. Imagine not having space to move or swim, not getting sunlight EVER. Every animal deserves to be free in their own environment. After quarantine we should have more empathy for these kinds of situations. Its a sad prison and we should not support this kind of cruelty-based entertainment made for humans. Let's evolve. We are all sentient beings.
Very nice place to visit if your in Barcelona! A massive variety of different species and some I'd never seen personally so close in real life before! Would definitely recommend.
Caveat: COVID has hurt this place a great deal, and you can tell they’re running on limited staff, resources, etc...so even if it’s not a 10/10 spot, try to support them. That said, for a world class city, the aquarium doesn’t live up to expectations. It’s a fine place to spend an hour or two with your kids, but not worth a repeat visit. Negatives outweigh positives with high prices, limited exhibits & species, mislabeled signage (incorrect names for the fish), poor explanations, etc. (Hoping it’s a one off experience, but we even saw a few dead animals in two tanks.) I wanted to like this place more, but the Barcelona Zoo runs circles around this place - both regarding quality and value. In short - go once, support the place, but limit expectations.
I mean it is good to be with your family and spent the bast time of your life there but it has dark sides to it too...nLike the food is a rip off some times the staff is ignoring and rude.nBut it’s worth seeing the animals and the pics
