My husband and I have been going to Scallops for 5 years. We live in Spain, near Valencia city, so with other things we need to do, it's a day trip for us. The food is good, the price is very reasonable, and the owner & staff have always made us and our two large dogs very welcome. They are doing their very best to keep things going under very difficult circumstances, and without the staff they had before. So the menu is reduced....try cooking a full menu on your own! So a young 15 year old wears her slippers.... she's helping her mum! So the gardens are a bit unkempt.... would you spend limited money on a gardener? Wine is cheap and so is a cooked breakfast. It's value for money...if you want 5 star.....pay 5 star prices.

Horrible food.nThis restaurant had previously 3 menus each one with a large variety of starters, main courses and desserts from 9,95€ to 13,95€ each one including a bottle of wine and a voucher for a breakfast.nNow the new « menu » is a single sheet of paper with a very limited choice, most of the items being with extra cost!! And no drink included. The menu is still at 11,95€. On the other side of the sheet is « à la carte », basically with the same items but individually priced.nI ordered the roast pork, absolutely disgusting. It was a slice of fat with no meat at all. A real shame.nIf you add a bottle of wine, your bill will sum up at 15,45€. An huge increase of 30%. Rather expensive for an inedible food.nThe unique interest of this restaurant is its large parking area and a pleasant sunny terrace, but the rose garden is abandonned and dirty.nNo credit cards only cash money.nAnd forget the breakfast voucher, there is no breakfast anymore.nSad end for the Scallops of Javea.

Just had an amazing lunch here. Good menu to choose from. I had prawn cocktail, followed by gammon steak, chips, pineapple & tomato, & then I tried my hardest to finish my dessert of vieetta . This was all washed down with a bottle of wine . Service was excellent as was the food. Spotlessly clean establishment. Certainly would recommend this place. Thank you all the friendly staff. will be back.
