Its general style is Gothic although its façade is Renaissance, it is a temple with a single nave divided into three sections, externally reinforced by rectangular section buttresses with an intermediate step. There are two side chapels that form the classic Latin cross plan. Inside, the ribbed vaults stand out, supported by small columns whose capitals are adorned with balls. At the intersection of the ribs there are circular keys carved with different heraldic motifs. Natural light comes through four windows, two of them at the head, one on each side and on the main altar; the other two are in the choir and in the baptistery.nIn the baptistery we can find a font from the 16th century; and to the left is the sacristy, a small and intimate room with a barrel roof.

The church, declared a National Monument in 1981, is the most emblematic monument. It was built between the end of the XV century and the beginning of the XVI. It is, in most of its elements, in the Gothic style, except for the front, which is already Renaissance. There are four main chapels on the sides, two on each side of the nave. The first on the right is that of Father Jesus, also covered with a ribbed vault, with a dressing room made later, with mortar and lime, with an enclosure over pendentives. Here the image of the Nazarene is worshiped, which is a similar carving to the disappeared Salcillo. It is believed that under the floor of this chapel there may be a crypt for burials. Opposite, the chapel of the Patron, the Virgin of the Assumption, a good carving made in wood around 1950. Along with the Nazareno, anothernnsmaller chapel, that of the Immaculate Conception, with an image of this Virgin, acquired in the 50s, the roof is also well ribbed. In front of the latter, the chapel of La Dolorosa, with a carving in a niche, which is a copy of Salcilles.

I don't know what this 15th century Gothic church will have, which fascinated me. That wear of the stone and its architecture, I was delighted even in the full sun of a summer day.

A church with a lot of history, small but very well cared for.
