I am the father of a child in the infant stage. For a few days in the common space of the classes there is a large banner with the word L L I B E R T A T and the letters in yellow.
I think that there may be a yellow, a red, a white freedom, etc. We each have our freedom, which is not total, but limited, to be able to coexist with others. For this reason, there are regulations that limit it to avoid the law of the jungle.
I do not find meaning in this banner, especially for the children who, due to their tender age, do not have the capacity to discern the nuances and intention that this word wants to give.
I suppose it is for parents who know how to read.
Please, we are older.
Before I start I want to add that my case is special, and probably some students who fit more in the profile to which Spanish current education is usually directed learn a lot and end up having good memories. It was not my case, and this comment is based on MY personal experience.
I don't have very good memories of those 4 years in high school. The teachers, at that time, did not take much into account and at the minimum that you did not fit in class you were already a problematic person. They had no treatment or ability to detect students with high capacities that year after year are being lost in current education, and are taken, for the most part, as rebel children without more. They had many things to improve, especially the fact of treating students' problems as nonsense, and I mean, especially, people with higher positions. Education is very normal; they send you homework, in third and fourth more than in the previous courses. Anyway, as almost everywhere. They crush English, but the truth is that I have ended up learning it through external sources, because I did not find motivation at this time to study in the traditional way. I do not know how everything is currently, but speaking from my experience I have to say that I do not keep any kind of love at this time, which also made me eternal.
Ignoring the current state of the school (I finished in 2010), I want to say that, please, students are taken into account, especially those who do not fit, because if they fail to fit it is for many reasons. The school should be like a second home, and there should be no students with more priorities or favoritism than others. Unfortunately, many schools sin this, but as I have attended high school here I mention it in this comment. Understanding, especially at an age as delicate and difficult as adolescence, is key to the good development of the student. To be able to help direct him, to know what he wants to do, to use the knowledge and experience of adults to be able to nourish himself on a logical and emotional level and be able to grow as a person. Understanding is VERY important, and I feel that it is parked or not given importance. There are not as many students as in public schools, but each student deserves a chance, regardless of the appearances you have or the feeling they convey.
Finally, I want to say that my grade is 3/5, because if we look at the educational side, they crush more and teach at an acceptable level. There are interesting outings, excursions to museums and, at least in my time, there were very interesting teachers, and it showed that they liked teaching.
Greetings
One of the best schools in Barcelona's Eixample.
One of the best Ensanche schools in Barcelona.
Trilingual school from early childhood education.
The teaching is very good, they are very insistent with English since the students are young and that is supported by many. But they could have put the other foreign languages like French and German a few years earlier, because they only taught them the last 3 years of ESO. That does not help much because you will not have enough good level to be there in a hurry, well at least the English they teach is of good level and when you reach high school it is to sew and sing, depending on the attention and effort applied to these kinds of this language.
Very good school. The students go every day delighted. Penalty that there is no high school.
