Can Cortada is a farmhouse in Esplugues de Llobregat (Baix Llobregat) protected as a cultural asset of local interest. It is a manor house located on a flat and oriented at noon, consists of ground floor, floor and attic. It emphasizes the extraordinary length of the facade. In 1768, this house was reformed, losing its primitive appearance. The main facade is formed by two voused entrances, and by seven sixcentist balconies with wrought iron railing, which is based on five volutes, being its glazed ceramic pavement. The attic opens on the outside by a gallery of twelve half-point arch and two more at greater distance. In the back part there is another access, elevation of the level of the floor, with stairs of wrought rail railing. There is no precise date for the construction of this house, but it was possibly built around the s. XV. In 1630, Antoni Matheu, the heir of this house, sold the property to Jaume Cortada, Baró de Maldà and since then it was known as Can Cortada. Later, in 1768, Rafael de Amat and de Cortada, IV Baró de Maldà, transformed this house, giving it its current appearance. In 1939, the baroness of Maldà would die, passing the estate to her son, Joaquim de Villalonga, count of Sant Miquel de Castellà. A year later, it restored its interior becoming a great stately mansion.
