Silla de Felipe II, from this place the Spanish King Felipe II followed the construction of the Real Monasterio de El Escorial. It is a nice excursion to be done with kids, more or less, 40 minutes from the Monastery. To reach the Silla de Felipe II from the Monastery, you should follow a secondary road, in the beginning restricted for vehicles. Once you cross a "main road", you can still follow the secondary road (this time open for vehicles) or follow a path that is marked with red and white colours, more challenging but still easy to do. The landscapes from the Silla de Felipe II are nice.
