Amazing views all-round. El Escorial, Madrid, Valmayor reservoir, mountains West and vistas South.... Eagles circling overhead. Tons of rocks to climb on. And cows to complete the inland Azorean dream, if you catch my drift. The climb was medium if you are fit. If you are not fit, is is tough ;)) Go to the vagan cafe in Zarzalejo after your climb down.

Spectacular place to breathe fresh air and disconnect from the city, it is worth making a little effort and enjoying nature in a short time from Madrid.

You ascend to the summit in a simple excursion from the town of Zarzalejo. You go through a beautiful oak and chestnut forest. Some of these are huge. It has beautiful views over San Lorenzo de el Escorial and a large part of the central system.

A wonderful excursion to the top of the mountain a few kilometers from Zarzalejo, Cruz Verde or Silla de Felipe.
