ENCUENTRO DE CAMINOS: "Santiago and Ignacio meet at Alfaro" At the exit of the town of Alfaro, La Rioja, a beautiful life-size sculpture that represents the two paths of pilgrims crossing in that locality. The old Camino de Santiago of the 10th century and the young Ignatian Way of the 21st century, leaving both of the same rock or root of the pilgrim soul, walking towards two different horizons: the sunrise and the sunset Jacobean Two Ways that unite and separate, sharing with profound respect the same transforming mission of every human being in pilgrims and pilgrims of Life. The Ignatian Way recreates the itinerary that the knight Ignacio de Loyola traveled in the year 1522 from his hometown, Azpeitia (Gipuzkoa), to the Catalan city of Manresa.
