Los Argálides are an area located in the upper part of the Park and where there is a lagoon that distributes the waters to various areas. In the Prado Museum a work by the Belgian artist Carlos de Haes is exhibited. Oil painting around 1872. It is a work that describes colors and shapes under the painter's brush and how lights and shadows are combined, reflecting very well the orography of the Park. For my taste one of the most beautiful and serene areas. NATURAL PARK. There are no words to describe a place and environment of such exquisite beauty. Piedra is the name of the river that gives it its name. An extraordinary place for charm and exclusivity. The Monasterio de Piedra Natural Park was created by Juan Federico Muntadas. The Piedra river forms, when passing through the vicinity of the Monastery, a place of great scenic beauty, with many waterfalls that are divided into innumerable streams of water or streams. Properly marked trails lead through the entire park, along some 5 km, to all the places of interest of the same. These waterfalls are formed by the dissolution of the limestones and their subsequent precipitation, which occurs when the flow decreases, with which the dissolved limestone is deposited in successive layers through which the water flows forming innumerable jumps. It is a karst phenomenon caused by slight fluctuations in the river flow itself. The park also has several caves, discovered by the founder of the park. There is also the so-called Mirror Lake. RIO PIEDRA. The Piedra River is born in Rueda de la Sierra and flows into the Jalón River (Ateca), which is in turn a tributary of the Ebro River. It is just 66 kilometers long at a maximum altitude of 904 meters. The Hoces del Río Piedra are known for hiking. But its fame comes because in its riverbed is the Natural Park of the Stone Monastery. A unique place.
