Delicious, fresh, clean, authentic; the chef and his team work hard to produce fantastic dishes that are every bit as tasty as they look. This is a small and intimate restaurant run with passion and my family & I can’t wait to return to try more of the food & wine. From the thick mushroom soup, through carpaccio to black squid ink risotto - every single dish was brilliantly balanced and bursting with flavor. My kids said that it was the best bolognese they have ever had (all the pasta is homemade). Service was professional, friendly and always with a smile. Best to reserve a table to avoid disappointment.

Sometimes a restaurant suffers when it believes its own hype and this is clearly a good example. After being seated, we proceeded to be ignored entirely except for being told, twice, by the extremely gruff and rude waiter that he would take our order in "two minutes" then "five minutes" which was clearly just a way to fob us off. He said that the kitchen was too small to take all the orders despite the fact the restaurant was three-quarters empty and they had been happily serving to full capacity when we asked for a table earlier in the evening. We would happily have chosen one of the other restaurants in the town if they had told us originally that they could not serve us, but it seemed they preferred to have us sit and wait for nothing, After 45 minutes of being entirely ignored while the waiting staff chatted to other patrons as if they had all the time in the world and ignored our requests to order food, we left. There are many other places in the local area with delicious food and a far more pleasant atmosphere where the staff actually appreciate your custom.

The restaurant feels like it's going to be excellent, it's small and the kitchen is open plan, right in the centre. We were given a superb little "taster", mushroom soup. Unfortunately after that it rather went downhill. The food looked good but lacked any real flavour, just all a bit bland. The service was very good, friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, a bit disappointing from somewhere that shows so much potential.
