Amazing Roman ruins discovered just a few years ago. There where no other families at the site so it was not touristy. With a little imagination, you can really put yourself 2000 years in the past.

We felt so lucky to see the sign for this Roman archeological site on the main road. We almost missed this! The small excavated areas of the center of town and the acropolis reveal enough to get an idea of Santa Criz in Roman times. The location of the site and the vistas of the area with Eslava in the distance are a treat in itself.

Not a museum, it's the archaeological site of a small roman town. No entry charge and open all the time. Very interesting and thought-provoking. Difficult to spot the access from the NA132, as it's just an agricultural track marked by a modest wooden sign. We were tyere early evening and had the place to ourselves. Another time we'll come and walk from here.

A pleasant place to go for a family walk and very well preserved, a successful visit

he Santa Criz site, one of the best preserved in Navarra and declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, is located opposite the town of Eslava in the Eastern Middle Zone of Navarra. Inside are the remains of a Roman city, and previously Basque, specifically its forum and its necropolis, which experienced its maximum splendor between the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. The monumentality and abundance of the remains found suggest that it was a great city. You can take a tour of an interpretive trail with informative panels that illustrate it.
