Great place to visit the town. The beach is right across the road. A lovely place. Felt very safe.

This is a very large pretty level sandy/stone/dirt parking area with no dedicated motorhome parking spaces sandwiched between a small airfield and the beach road. There are some services available excluding electricity. The parking area is suitable for really large motorhomes (bus type) greater than 9 meters or motorhomes with trailers. The maximum stay is 48 hours which is posted on the fence but we and maybe 40 other motorhomes stayed longer due to Valencia region covid19 travel restrictions with no issue. Pros: Free parking. Free black WC dump. Local supermarkets, cafes and bars. Beach across road. Cycle paths. Long promanade. SUP and surf board rental. Cons: No shade. Mosquitoes... Ground gets mucky in the wet. There are free services excluding electricity. The official aire with services is only 2 minutes drive away towards the port which we used. Most stayed in the same parking space and completed their services, explained below.. We were told the police agreed to the services system here. There is no grey drain to drive over but you can dump the grey waste in the drains on the side of the road using buckets. At the entrance and exit there are very large orange plastic containers that are used to hold black WC waste. They each have large black plastic screw-off caps on a short chain. Both were almost full when we were there hence plenty of spashback. You need to bring your own water to clean out the cassette. Most were using grey water for this job. The local council clean out these large containers about once a week and the air gets very smelly when they are doing it. For water, you can use the beach foot showers across the road eventhough there are signs prohibiting this practice. Not sure if the water is potable as we only used it for washing up. There is a large bin including a bottle recycling bin on the road outside the middle gate. There were about 50 motorhomes here, a few coming and going all the time to the shops or the official services at the Aire. Most of the motorhomes who pass through here every winter were waiting to move further south after the covid-19 restrictions are lifted. We were here for very good weather and also a 2 day storm. The ground gets very mucky in wet weather. We also had to use chocks to level the van for our shower drain. The police stopped one day and took all the van registrations and then left. The road is quiet busy and the airfield is very busy at weekends with skydiving but you do get used to all the noise. There is also a helicopter stationed at the end of the airfield which can shake the motorhome when passing. A couple of days the military were training in a helicopter which was extremely noisy. The sandy beach across the road is large and goes for 2km to the port. It's also shallow a long way out for nervous swimmers. There are beach full body and foot showers dotted all along the beach. The promanade goes all the way to Benicassim and beyond with a cycle track. Exercise and picnic areas seem to be everywhere. It costs €15 an hour for a SUP at Surfers Castellon at the end of the beach nearest the port. There are restaurants and cafe/bars close-by but had restrictions due to covid-19. Restaurant J. Zamora at the back of Mercadona near the port has a fantastic menu del dia for €12 each. Some of the van owners went to the golf restaurant/bar and found it good. The closest supermarket Mercadona is 2.5km away. Lidl and Carrefour are a 10 minute drive away towards Castellon. Bugs/Mosquitoes. (They love us..) The first 3 nights here in the end of October we had no mosquitoes but for the next 3 nights we had plenty until it got a little colder in the evenings when they disappeared. In actual fact all our neighbours had them as well with one having 20+ in the van one of the nights. My wife and myself got bitten many times and we had some in the motorhome in the evenings which had to be taken care of with our battery operated tennis racquet.

Good parking for motorhomes but no facilities. The services are about 1km away. Long stayers spoil this facility by taking up too much space with all their kit. It would be helpful if they moved on regularly to leave space for others.

It is NOT a motorhome parking. The police have thrown us out, since it was completely empty (4 vehicles) and the Castellón area was full. With hundreds of free places on the street. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THESE DISCRIMINATORY POLICIES. A car yes, but a motorhome, no ?????? For what reason? These discriminations are illegal. We slept one night and at 9 in the morning the noise of the planes is infernal. I don't know who has thought of labeling this car park as "Motorhome Parking" but it has stood out. From the parking lot to the runway and takeoff there are not even 100 meters. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT to any fellow camper.
