Excellent restoration done by "The Light of the Images". Church with a ramp 100% accessible for the disabled.

The church of San Pedro is the second in importance of the town of Sant Mateu. Located in the high part of the population, it would be born after the Christian conquest and the concession of the letter populates, in 1237. It is a temple of a single nave, wide, with pointed arches, dating from the second half of the thirteenth century. At the beginning of the 18th century, the current façade and the bell tower were added, apart from a Baroque decoration that could come from earlier times. Retablos and decoration were removed in the great restoration that was made of the temple in 2003 and 2004, which restored its medieval aspect. In these works fragments of the ancient stony altarpiece, late Gothic, of the fourteenth century, dedicated to the saints Peter and Paul, who were placed in the apse, were discovered.
