Such a beautiful site as you drive up to the castle. There is a free car park very close to the castle and one much further down if you fancy a long walk up to the castle, I personally didn't park here as too far. It took us 50 mins to get around Xativa castle. It's more like ruins with beautiful high views so not like a castle with rooms. There is a coffee shop there with lovely views, don't know prices as didn't have anything there. Glad I went, have seen nicer ones in other countries but I think it still deserved 5 stars and it's reasonably priced at €2.40 per person, a good day out and not expensive.

We started the visit of the Xativa castle at the bottom of the small mountain, where the castle is situated. At the bottom of the mountain are two small parking lots, where you can park. It is also possible to go up by car, there is a official parking lots, and it is also possible to park just at the road side. The castle offers some fantastic views to the surroundings, there are some rooms with further explanations, a small fountain, etc. You can easily spend there easily three hours, exploring all the parts of this big castle.

It's the epitomy of 'spirit of place'. The antiquity just oozes and you feel as if you have stepped back 700 years. To reach the very top of the fortification and then gaze out from this great height across the plains and mountains in the distance is a wonderful experience. One is only conscious of the distant hum of humanity going about it's business. Here, the gentle breeze and sounds of nature dominate.
