Very cool place to visit with children, the problem is that Google Maps sent us somewhere else, better to follow the signs.

Site that seems forgotten but the enclave is spectacular, highly recommended visit, it is an injection of peace

In a place of La Mancha, in the Castilian solitude are the ruins of Jamila, an archaeological site that began to be discovered in 1921, of medieval origin. It is believed that it was destined for worship and that it was destroyed by fire. Very interesting.

On the fields of La Mancha, in the middle of the Campo de Montiel region, stands the Jamila archaeological site. In a somewhat elevated terrain, perfect to contemplate and enjoy the extraordinary mixture of colors that the cultivated lands of the area present, is this site, which consists of a series of aligned columns. The importance of the excavated and discovered there is not so much, but the beauty of the environment that surrounds it. Nature in its purest form and a film postcard of the Campo de Montiel to which Cervantes in Don Quixote already referred.nnJamila is accessed by the road that goes to the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Antigua, and just before arriving, take a detour signposted to the left, and after 400 meters on a dirt road, you reach this paradise.

It is an archaeological site located in Villanueva de los Infantes, in a hill and near the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Antigua. It occupies a period that goes from the second century before our era, until the fourteenth century, when it was abandoned (remains of a fire at that time show a tragic end). Thus, the remains of the colonnade that can be visited belong to the Middle Ages. Although archaeological remains have been found that demonstrate its use from the Iberians to the Knights of the Order of Santiago. The place also shows other historical points of interest in the area.
