Depressing and documenting Toledo. 6-11-2019. Church of San Sebastián.nnThe church of San Sebastián in case anyone does not know it is located at the southern end of the old town of Toledo, in the Carreras de San Sebastián, very close to the bank of the Tagus River in what was the Barrio de Curtidores. And for the people of Toledo to say that it is in case someone does not know it, just in front of the road that goes down to the Barca Pasaje, or to the Casa del Diamantista; or the ducks ... I think we all have gone to feed those ducks hahaha.nnIt is one of the oldest monuments in Toledo and yet it is one of its least known churches probably because of its location, somewhat away from the city center.nnIt is currently owned by the Toledo Consortium who is responsible for making it accessible on a route that I recommend. Even music concerts are held within it. And that is why today I show you this gem of Toledo.nnI show you to inform you that they are being held inside, within the IX Days of Music in the Heritage Restored some music concerts, one has already been held last Sunday but there are still three more.nnSpecifically next Sunday, the Hernando & Bakhuashvili (saxophone and piano) duo will perform and present a wide repertoire, evoking Toledo as a city of the Three Cultures, in which his work Fandango de Gregory van der Struik, a short piece will be released duration, but of a lot of rhythmic intensity based, as its title indicates, on Flemish Fandango itself.nnIn its origin, the fandango was a dance that began to become popular in Andalusia from the 18th century, and would be present at parties, in the tonadillas of the theaters and numerous musical editions, mainly of guitar. But that is another story.nnI invite all music lovers to visit it, and as usual in Toledo, this cultural event is free, and the entrance will be free, yes, until full capacity is reached.nnApart from listening to music, you can see the beautiful church of San Sebastián, which was once a mosque and was one of those delivered to the Toledo (Mozarabic) Christians after the Castilian conquest of Leon, although after the depopulation of the neighborhood in modern centuries to remain without cult and so it goes on today.nnBut all this and more I have already told you and I am only from photos, I hope you like it.nnHappy Wednesday.

Beautiful hermitage built on a Mozarabic mosque - they have left part of the preserved archaeological remains. Very good acoustics for chamber concerts.
