The facilities are very well cared for and it is very nice to see how wine is made in a traditional and family way. The owners explain the whole process in a very friendly and close way. Perfect to complete later with a walk through the town, very well maintained.

Bodegas PeralnnAn urban winery with historical production structures, a room for jars and well-preserved high-quality caves. Bodegas Peral produces 3,000 hectoliters of wine, among which are the white and red varieties.nnIn the mid-nineteenth century, the Cuéllar family founded the winery in response to the demand for wine from Madrid. In 1953 it passed into the hands of the Peral family, who innovated its cultivation and production by applying techniques such as “sobremadre”, an ancient custom of fermenting the wine with a part of the skins and which Jesús Peral, its current winemaker and owner, continues today. The winery, as is characteristic of the area, has an interesting cave carved out of rock, which can be visited and in which various stages of the winemaking process continue to take place.nnIts great cave excavated in limestone and the great room of clay jars stand out, which in other times were made and cooked in Colmenar de Oreja.nnYou can arrange a guided tour or a free visit. It also has night visits with dinner pairing and experiences such as the grape tread or designing your own wine.nnIt is common to see art exhibitions by young artists in their facilities and they also promote literary competitions around the world of wine.
