Sant Martí de Borén is a Romanesque church of the town of Borén, in the municipal district of Alt Àneu, in the region of Pallars Sobirà. It belonged to the old terme of Sorpe. The church is located in the highest place of the town, in the north-western corner of the town center. The present, great temple is the product of a reconstruction of the 18th century, which greatly enhanced it. There are, however, elements of the Romanesque church. There are mentions of this church since 908, in a transaction between the abbot of Gerri and the count of Pallars. From the 1090 date a document mentioning the peculiarity of the ecclesiastical organization of Borén, since it was a place of county control, within the territory of the Vall d'Àneu, and, therefore, with privileges and obligations different from the other towns of the valley Among others, the parish of Sant Martí owned the first rights of the people of Borén.
