This basilica was first a mosque and when the Christians reconquered in the city of Balaguer they built a Romanesque church later enlarged and converted into a basilica. Here is the Holy Christ of Balaguer who came according to legend to go up the Ebro and then the Segre until reaching Balaguer here was put in this place becoming a place of worship of the whole region visit more than a must when you are in Balaguer
