Excellent, good for a walk and with great views ..
A dreamlike viewpoint from the top of Monte Alba.nWith its great height you can see in the distance, on a day without fog, the Cíes Islands, the Island of Ons and if there is no dense fog the Island of Sálvora. At the foot of the mountain, you can see the city of Vigo and its surroundings, in addition to the estuary that bears his name, Cabo Home, Moaña, Cangas, the Rande bridge, the Mount of the Guide, etc., as well as the dam de Zamanes and in the distance the Porriño quarry.nEnjoy a meal with pleasant company and the views, it is possible at the various tables arranged around the place and if you are looking for more comfort there is a small restaurant with easy access.

It is rather a granite massif divided in two at its highest part. We are talking about Monte Alba (also called Cerro de San Bartoloméu) and Monte Cepudo.nChapel of Monte AlbanMonte Alba is the lowest of the two and is situated at a height of 502 m above sea level. It is best known for the famous chapel of the same name that crowns the summit. In it, Our Lady of the Alba and San Bartolomeu are venerated. It is a rectangular ashlar hermitage.nThe chapel can be climbed on foot from two sides. On the one hand, we will ascend some stone stairs that lead to the top or we will do it along the unpaved track that climbs on the left side, leaving aside the forest refuge.nThe castlenOnce it was part of a medieval fortress that occupied the top. This belonged to the Valladares house and bore the name of Castelo do Alba. Its location is not strange, since from here the entire area of Vigo and its estuary can be seen. Proof of this is the shield that is preserved on the facade of the chapel and that belonged to this family and the different remains of walls and stones that are in the surroundings.nThe CastronOlder still was the site of a fort on this top of which we have very few remains due to the frequent changes that the summit has undergone.nlookoutnApart from the chapel, the highlight, as we said, is the value of this location as a viewpoint, perhaps one of the best in the entire region. From here we will see all of Vigo, the estuary, the Cíes Islands, the Atlantic Ocean, part of the Val Miñor and the entire Serra do Galiñeiro.nSculpturesnVarious stone sculptures have been scattered around the area and since 1999 are part of the Monte Alba complex. Also in the vicinity we can visit the Monte dos Pozos Forest Park, with a restaurant, tables and even a beautiful artificial lake.nMount CepudonMonte Cepudo is the second peak that forms Monte Alba.
Quiet place for a walk with great views
Spectacular panoramic view of the surroundings of Vigo ... if it is clear the views are priceless. There is a hermitage dedicated to Santa María del Alba. Option to do route with both walking and cycling. Attached is Mount Cepudo, which is also worth seeing and has an ideal picnic area to relax one afternoon ... you can also have a drink since there is a restaurant with a cafeteria.
