His negligence in Severo Ochoa has served to send a man to his grave.nnAfter admission for atrial tachycardia and tachycardia syndrome, a pacemaker was placed and he was discharged prematurely at 4 days. My partner, Dr. Grande, discharged him with 2 diuretics and an antihypertensive as treatment for mild fluid retention secondary to IC, being a 85-year-old normotensive male (bisoprolol, furosemide, and spironolactone) whose fluid retention was it had reversed almost completely before discharge.nnIn less than 24 hours after discharge, obviously, the patient was readmitted without measurable blood pressure, hypovolemic and hyponatremic due to the antialdosteronic effect of spironolactone, causing severe renal failure. No clinical history of hypotension. Negligence like that of Dr. Grande is what blackens the dark history of the Severo Ochoa Hospital in Leganés.
