Beautiful small sample of Romanesque
José Saínz-Pardo Gómez (02/28/2018)
Construction of a rectangular plan, with a single nave, made of masonry stone in all its facades, with only use of ashlars in the corners, buttresses and as a lintel and jambs of the openings. The roof is three waters, it has an Arab-style tile and molded stone cornice throughout the whole. The main façade, oriented to the northwest, is composed of a simple wooden door with a low semicircular arch, with ashlars both in the form of segments as in the impost and jambs; on it a simple cover of Arab tile and wood of a single fall. Topping the facade a small bulrush with a single bell inscribed under a semicircular arch and finished off with a triangular pediment, on which two pinnacles rest at the base of the bulrush, on the roof.nnOn the southwest facade, apse transdosed abroad quadrangularly.nnHistorical facts:nnThe hermitage is built on another existing one before the 19th century. According to R. Arce Ruamayor a reconstruction of the building is already carried out in 1730, with alms, and must be rebuilt again in 1820. The hermitage was a councilor's council and had its party on July 16. That day, as reflected by the mayor's accounts of the year 1754, a procession was held with dancers paid by the town hall.
