When the Riazor stadium was officially inaugurated in 1945, although the first match was played on October 29, 1944nDeportivo-valencia We already had our beloved Marathon towernThis gives us the idea that it was always a stadium and not a ca. Po of soccer, since this one serves to control the careers of athletics, etc.nThe stadium had 6 horseshoe-shaped tracks and the Olympic arches at the entrance.nAfter at least 3 major reforms including the one for the World Cup, our tower ended up staying out of the stadiumnThis tower was also used to control the popular Marathon that ended in the stadium and for television and radio to retransmit football matches and any other event.

Symbolic for the sportsmen, it is full of graffiti of the Riazor Blues that I do not think that nobody but a fan of the Celtic or some Franco wanted to erase.

Tower belonging to the sports complex of Riazor. It used to be used to control athletic events.

The Marathon Tower is a vestige of the former Riazor stadium, before its remodeling, it was conceived as a viewpoint to follow the athletics competitions that took place in the city and that ended inside, it is located next to the access door of the Riazor Blues, and at his feet an “altar” was created that serves as a monument and reminder of Jimmy, ultra killed by the ultras rivals of the athletic front hours before the game in Madrid against the same team in 2014
