We did an overnight stop here in our motorhome in early September. They are nice people running it. Good English is spoken by the daughter. It's a well established campsite judging by the size of the trees. There are a fair few static units and maybe this is most of their business. These "static units" are a bit scruffy and being under the trees have become a little dirty. It's not altogether welcoming. On the plus side the loos and showers are clean and modern. The water was hot eventually. The light went off while I was still the shower which would have been problem at night. The pool was empty. A river runs along side where it is possible to swim. It might be ok for an overnight stop but nothing more and I thought it bit expensive at €21.50 including electricity. It was, generally, a rather scruffy site.

I really enjoyed my stay during my cycle tour of the Basque country, it was so nice I took a rest day here. Although the swimming pool seems to be no longer in use, the on site restaurant delivered a wonderful BBBQ (the extra "B" is for Basque!). The campsite is situated in a quite valley with a lovely river on three sides and I was able to pitch next to a electric outlet so I could charge all my bits and pieces that we can't do without nowadays. Highly recommended!

I'm not a camping geek but I think this place deserves 5-star for few reasons: It's clean, it's beautiful, it's spacious, has a bar, has a river and the shower and toilet installations are nice and clean. People from different parts of Europe. I was greeted warmly and the care was good during my stay (2 nights in late July 2019) · Atención cordial. Lugar limpio y bonito. Parada recomendada!

Simple, friendly and wonderful location with great river swims. Especially upstream just by the bridge at Goizueta where we jumped into gorgeous blue water.

We planned on staying four nights on this campsite and ended up staying eight, end of July 2016. The main positive points for a family with 3 kids: - The camping gives you the possibility to swim in a very nice bend of the Umurea river. There is some real depth and you can swim straight for at least 30 metres. The kids spent days playing on the rock islands in the river. - 3 km from the campsite is the village of Goizueta with friendly people, a bakery, 3 grocery stores and a small restaurant. - There are plenty of hikes to do in the beautiful mountainous surroundings (megatliths). If you are into road cycling of mountain bike, this is a perfect base station as well - San Sebastian is a 45 min drive down the river Umurea. Bilbao (Guggenheim) is not out of reach for a day trip either, nor any of the beaches of the Basque coast. - The place is in the middle of nowhere: quiet and beautiful nights skies - Friendly people at the reception who really seem to care about their campsite. Clean toilets. - There is a small restaurant. Not to eat every day but enough to help you out if need be. - Nice mix of local people (in the bungalows) and tourists passing by. Downsides: - Not many. The hot water was sometimes a bit unrealiable. Only one place where you can do the dishes with warm water. The playground is a bit run-down, but this didn't seem to bother the kids. If you are not staying in the area, you will have to negotiate 30 minutes of (beautiful) mountain roads before you can start getting somewhere. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a "base camp" to visit the Spanish basque country and wanting to avoid huge tourist crowds.
