Gothic church, which is in ruins. From there you can see the town of Caparroso and the river del Río Aragón. The people of Caparroso are actively working for it to be restored. The image of "El Cristo" that gives its name to the place is in the Church of Cristo Rey next to the schools and the pelota court

Igleisa del Cristo de Caparroso The church is in ruins, but even so, it is the most interesting monument in Caparroso. It is a Gothic church, built in the 14th century. Almost all the roof is fallen and where the sky was previously hidden by the spiky medieval vaults, today we can see the clouds pass by. the hill on which the town is located was the first parish of the same until in the middle of the 16th century another was built in the most central area of the urban nucleus. It is a 14th century building, probably from its first half due to the tax exemptions granted in 1332 by the crown. Currently it is reduced to romantic ruins, whose vigorous presence stands out greatly in the arid landscape that surrounds it. Fortunately, the perimeter walls remain standing with two chapels attached to the antipresby, the main chapel and the tower, which sufficiently define its plan and elevations. In accordance with a very usual scheme in 14th century Navarra architecture, it presents a single nave of great amplitude, consisting of three sections and a pentagonal head, plus two small rectangular chapels like cruise ships, open in front of it, belonging to the one on the Gospel to the Holy Christ. Its elevations are defined by pillars with angled ramrods, which at a considerable height are topped with rough capitals of rough invoice, some with double rows of Gothic fallen leaves and others figurative, such as the immediate pillar at the head on the side of the epistle that has three heads with two lions interspersed; the other figurative capitals are practically lost or their subjects are difficult to identify. From these capitals the vaults start, keeping only the ribbed section of the section before the head and its gallonade roof, both with molded ribs from the 14th century, joining in the decorated but very lost keys, like the triumphal attic .

The church is in ruins, but thus, it is the most important monument Interesting from Caparroso. It is an igotic church, built in the 14th century. all the roof is fallen and where the 'sky was formerly hidden by the eaves to medieval vaults Although the church is in a sorry state it is well worth a restoration. It has the charm of those medieval ruins that 19th century romantic painters liked so much. The Christ Church still preserves part of the original polychromy in its cover. When I visited it, in September 2013, the enclosure of the ruins was destroyed and I was able to visit its interior. Notice what it is quite dangerous due to the state the monument. He couldn't curb my curiosity and I went into this medieval skeleton that it still preserves the beauty of some pointed arches and it has the mystery that always keep the ancient ruins. Inside I saw a tombstone among the tangle of vegetation that I He recalled that the church had been used as a cemetery. In its splendor it was the parish church of Caparroso, now replaced by the parish of Santa Fe. In one of the capitals to the right of the apse we can see the head of a woman flanked by two beasts, which appear to be lions, which in turn
