Worth a quick visit if you are in the area with a car. Be advised that this is not the Cardona castle as other reviews mistakenly said. No official visits are arranged.

The castle of Balsareny is located on the top of a hill of 420 m on the right bank of the river Llobregat, on the town of Balsareny, it is a fortification already dated 951 AC. Good example of Catalan civil Gothic style fortress. It has always been linked to the lineage of the Balsareny and is in an excellent state of preservation.

We did the whole mountain bike tour with some friends taking advantage of a Sunday morning with a lot of sun and a bit of heat that could be endured with the proximity of the stream and its clear waters, as well as the coolness of the many shadows. which give the immense trees of the area. Very well signposted and with all the mills and fountains that illustrate the path. We will be back soon
