Imposing Military-geared cathedral with two towers for defense. Ride from Valencia was a bit long, probably best for a gravel bike and routing by Albufera on the west side. You will have to go on highway, lots of traffic until you cross under bridge on Albufera side. Then quite a nice ride. Beautiful surroundings, clean area to sit down and rest.

Conventual Church of the Immaculate Conception, known as Iglesia del Raval, built by the Order of Mercy in 1792, on a former hermitage (Capella de la Mare de Déu dels Dolors, around which a suburb of barracks known as the Raval de la Capella).nnThe church of the Immaculate Conception was part until 1959 of the convent of Mercedarios, which was built annex to the church in 1805 (on the land now occupied by the Health Center and Joan Fuster Square) and was demolished by its ruinous state the cited year 1959. The convent moved here from its original place in the surroundings of La Creueta, former farmhouse of the Alcahecía.nnA curiosity is that in 1835, with the confiscations, the church went into private hands and became an agricultural warehouse, but a popular revolt in 1903 forced its owners to donate it again to the population for religious use.
