Church of Our Lady of the Assumption as a CouplennThe Parish Church of Pareja is a grandiose building built in the 16th century, which reflects the power that the lords of Pareja, the Bishops of Cuenca, maintained in their time.nnThe layout of the Church responds to a single project but in its execution you can see the variants that distinguish its two phases.nnThe first phase, around 1530-1540, focuses on the head and the transept, including the sacristy and the main chapel.nIt largely respects the Gothic concepts of construction with a polygonal-plan presbytery.nnThe ribbed vaults, which were used, measured from the 16th century, were the covers chosen for the three naves of the church.nnThe work ends with the start of the tower, inserted into the building itself, inside which, in front of the chancel, the choir and the baptismal room are located on its lower floor.
