Chef Wondim Backpacker Hostel

My travel buddy and I had a great time at the hostel. The staff was friendly and are room was cozy and gave us the opportunity to rest a little amidst our travels - thank you! I'd recommend the hostel to all who are visiting Gondar. Greetings from Germany!

Good wifi, clean and good ubication. The place is so comfortable, good relationship between price and place. Abraham is so helpful. We organized our all tour 10 days for the north of Ethiopia with him and it was awesome.

This place was amazing ! Fresh coffee and breakfast every morning. In a great location near the churches and away from any sort of chaos. Also very easy to get to the Piazza where there is lots of restaurants and live music. Also provide tours to Simien mountains for an amazing experience !

Amazing place! Such great service and friendly staff. Truly got a chance to feel at home for a while during my travels. Definitely recommend if you're a backpacker looking for a refreshing hostel to stay in Gondar

Could not recommend Chef Wondim’s backpackers hostel highly enough. Wondim and all the staff were extremely helpful and went way beyond what was expected to make me feel comfortable. Breakfast outside in the peaceful garden was delicious (including amazing local honey) and they were kind enough to take me to their favourite breakfast and coffee places, as well as a local restaurant for dinner, on top of helping sort out bus tickets. Would suggest staying here to anyone looking for affordable accommodation in Gondar.
