Kuriftu Lake Tana Resort and Spa ,Bahir Dar ,Ethiopia

The resort is lovely. Nice pool and pool area and beautiful views of Lake Tana. Good food in the restaurant. The rooms are nice and spacious for 3 (with extra bed), but the aircon is a joke. We tested it in 3 different rooms and it just did not work, with no cold air and automatic shut down. The staff did not agree that this was a problem... We were unlucky enough to get an ant invasion, but the staff were helpful and moved us to a new room.

Beautiful location on Lake Tana in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. Great breakfast bar. The boat tour on Lake Tana was great! Blue Nile Falls not far from here.

Clean restaurant and friendly staff

Didn't stay, but dined in the poolside restaurant and used the spa facilities. The restaurant and service is great! A nice break and respite from the 'pizza, pasta, burger, injera' menus - along with a great team that work there. With the spa, however, be warned. They have a lovely little scam going on where they quote for a 45 minute massage, then state they are doing a 30 minute service, but only deliver a 20 minute massage! Out of habit, I set the timer on my iphone, and when the massage therapist said the massage was finished, I looked at my phone and only 20 minutes had passed. I showed her the phone, and she was very embarrassed. They did provide the additional service and time that was paid for, but just a heads up that you may be shortchanged on time.
