Dek Island

Largest island on Lake Tana accessible by tourist boat or ferry. Plan for a full day and include Dag Istafanos, the small nearby island with a monastery (only males allowed!). Here are the mummies of several leading Gondar era emperors, including Fasilides from the 17th century.
