V.Good Price and Clean Room. Some Drawback on Water shortage. Manage this Drawback.

We don’t have another hotel in Ethiopia to compare to yet. The room was nice, except the linens had some light staining and we were given 1 towel instead of two, both nights. When we went to ask for a second, each time, the staff seemed annoyed by the request and we felt uncomfortable. The breakfast seemed basic... we just learned now that we can ask for omelettes, after eating our second breakfast. The big negative for us was that we asked if laundry was available and were not told there would be a charge. Elsewhere we’ve been in Africa has offered this free. More so, no charge was told to us. The charge was 140 (high!) and we had 3 shirts, 3 pants washed. Also, while we were checking out, we were informed by 3 staff members that the card machine does not work. The way this was done felt dishonest. A fourth came along and offered to try it, it worked. WiFi works in the lounge.

This was the best value for money hotel during our entire stay in Ethiopia. It was the cheapest but had the strongest shower. Large clean rooms. Very attentive 24 hr staff. Just make sure you take ear plugs since you can hear the church at 3 am and then the mosque at 5 am. Since it is a value hotel, locals do stay here. We had a loud bunch opposite us and the staff were not as equipped/ trained to deal with the issue. This is a difficult situation for any hotel so I won’t be harsh on Abay Int.

Very good value for money ! Best shower we could have in Ethiopia, spacious room, friendly staff .. Not the standard of large European hotels but pleasant break for travelers in backpack. The location is very good.
