Grand Hotel & Resort

Great view to the city and lake Tana from the hotel; probably the best in the city. Rooms are spacious. The staff were very helpful. However, some rooms had issues with the air conditioning, I had to change rooms because of that. If it's a must to have, better to check before settling in. The breakfast was fair, it can be better.

Nice restaurant and coffee bar! Free wifi and good service. The lamb tips were good and came fast. I also ordered pizza, that took time but looks good

The one star is for the excellent view. Besides that, the worst service especially for such a big hotel. The decor and interior design is an eyesore and quite sad. I came to use the spa service but no one was present by the counter and when I called the number on the website. She had me wait for hours and not bother to call back while promising to. Very disappointed.

Before you spend $120 per a night for suite room you should know the following: The suite room has no shower, no working air conditioner, the jacuzzi dose not work, the bed was unbalanced, the stuff at the reception seems not to be concerned about these multiple issues and will not care to make any accommodation to take care of the the issues and your discomfort. It is just poorly managed and poorly maintained hotel. It is embarrassing to keep the room the way it is and let gusts book it, unless guests book it for the view. The suite room I stayed in was on 14 floor and the view is great and it has plenty of space( The two stars are for the view).
