Case definitions for COVID-19 Suspected case A. A person presenting with fever (>38℃) or history of fever and symptoms of respiratory tract illness e.g. cough, difficulty in breathing AND a history of travel to or residence in a country/area or territory reporting local transmission of COVID-19 disease during the 14 days prior to symptom onset. OR B. A person with fever (>38℃) or history of fever and symptoms of respiratory tract illness e.g. cough, difficulty in breathing AND in the last 14 days before symptom onset, close contact with a person who is under investigation or confirmed for COVID-19 OR C. A person with fever (>38℃) or history of fever and symptoms of respiratory tract illness e.g. cough, difficulty in breathing; And requiring hospitalization )And in the absence of alternative diagnoses that fully explains the clinical situation Probable case: A. A suspect case for which testing for COVID-19 is inconclusive OR B.
