Ethiopis Hotel Aksum - ኢትዮጲስ ሆቴል

Nice helpful staff and good location. The restaurant food was nice also. However the room was infested with cockroaches... We killed eight on the first night and two or three on subsequent ones. And also the street is very noisy at night.

The only reason why I am giving it two stars is because: it has a very good location, the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The room space was very small making it difficult to move around and the bathroom, at least in the room where I was located, had the most bizarre space distribution making it impossible to take a shower without leaving the toilet (and everything else) soaking wet. There was water, at least and the staff was very friendly: from the front desk to the restaurant and cleaning personnel. Rooms can be a little loud in the night, given the proximity of a bar so I would not recommend if a good night rest is needed.

One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The floor, walls, and bathroom were filthy. The hot water tap in the shower fiell off as soon as you touched it, every crevice was full of mould, the toilet seat was broken. It's like they hadn't done any maintenance or proper cleaning since they opened. Also, terrible bed bug infestation. The manager seemed completely oblivious and incompetant at fulfilling even the most basic request. Hotels in ethiopia are generally pretty bad, but this was even worse.

Best hotel in Axum. Their price is fair and good. The rooms are clean. Water and electricity is available all the time. Apriciate their wifi.
