Great Temple of the Moon

Loved the museum here. The prayer books are a thousand years old with pages of fine goat skin. Awe inspiring moon temple.

Although not very much is known about, the architecture is amazing and there multiple excavation sites of ancient castles and court house in addition to the temple.

YEHA Ethiopian oldest town in the adiministrative region of tigray,was possibly Ethiopia's oldest major settlement .An hour and half's drive from the oldest ancient city of Axum. The ancient city of yeha first described in the early sixteenth century.

This is an amazing pre-Axumite, pre Christianization Great Temple of the Moon at Yeha, 15km northeast of Adwa, the historic town where the Great Victory of Adwa was scored against the envasive Italian regime. The Great Temple of the Moon has many more fascinating tourist sites nearby, like the archaeological site where many discoveries has been made. Yeha is an old town, considered the first African capital eith historic trade ties to the powerful kingdoms of the time in Asia, Arabs and the Europe.
