Hawassa Fish Market

The best place in town to have some soup of fish and fresh fish with their hot spices from the lake. It is also interesting to see Fishers prepare the fish, the kids around will show you traditional dance and African dance. I suggest everyone visit this place and also take some of the hot spices to your home.

Even though the lake has been visitors site for many years and having much fish resource the local city administration is not giving the best administrative policy to the lake. The lake is been polluted and the fishing method is not modern

Interesting place by the Hawassa lake. You can taste some fresh (and also raw) fish or fish soup. I find both delicious 😋 You can also observe fishermen doing their job, there’s a lot of birds, trying to find some food. Nice place to visit

Now this place was a blast! You need to go to the end and have the best fish soup in town. You need to get a cup and wait until the batch is done. I wasn't courageous enough to have the raw fish but it looked delicious. The massive birds look like something that nightmares are made of. LOL
