The National Bank of Ethiopia was established in 1963 by proclamation 206 of 1963 and began operation in January 1964. Prior to this proclamation, the Bank used to carry out dual activities, i.e. commercial banking and central banking. The proclamation raised the Bank’s capital to Ethiopian dollars 10.0 million and granted broad administrative autonomy and juridical personality.

I used this bank services many times, to send money to parents...in India. ...used to send money from Assosa bank this bank, and then from this bank to India...I used to love these cash transactions...ho many many memories... Once money sent to India, I used to enjoy a lot, free and happy man...

The one and only branch of National Bank of Ethiopia but they still have the audacity to close at 4pm. They're a big joke
