Tomoca coffee is the gold standard of Ethiopian coffee in Addis Ababa, everyone knows about them. Though it’s written up in virtually every guidebook and piece of Addis writing you’ll come across, it’s for a good reason, and it’s a coffee shop you must visit if you love coffee. It’s a very small, antique looking, coffee shop where the aroma of coffee will hit you before you enter. There’s no seating, so you basically order a cup of coffee and either stand somewhere, or place your cup of coffee on one of the few stand-up coffee tables.

The best coffee ☕ in Ethiopia, a must visit place in Addis Ababa, the only problem is the place is to crowded. But still I go there every morning.

Old school Ethiopian cafe. You might have to fight for your place in line with the locals but you'll be glad you did. First go to the cashier and place your order. She will give you a token(s) for your purchase. Take them to the barista and receive a cup of heaven. Their macchiatos are authentic and served in a glass cup so you can see the layers. Try a Shi-bunna if you want another Ethiopian specialty - espresso floating on hot tea.
