If you aren't convinced 'God created humans in his image', come and see how King Lalibela reengineered the planet. No matter what you heard, and no matter how many pictures you saw of Lalibela, seeing it for yourself will be unparalleled and breathtaking. Lalibela is history and mystery frozen in stones. Lalibela is the new Jerusalem and truly a world wonder. In Lalibela, you will witness Christianity in its most raw & powerful form. 13thC, King Lalibela made 11 monolithic churches hewn out of solid rock. Each church has unique artistic finish in execution, size, variety & form. The Churches of Lalibela are still preserved in their natural settings. F. Alvarez's description of Lalibela: “It worried me to write more of these works, because it seems to me that they will not believe me if I write more, and because as to what I have already written they may accuse me of untruth, therefore I swear by God, in Whose power I am, that all that is written is the truth, and there is much more than what I have written, and I have left it that they may not tax me with its being falsehood."

Amazing Place to visit unique and beautiful rock churches with a stunning view.

This is unique and beautiful rock church designed in the form of cross. Though there are some designs left on the windows and no sculpture is visible now. It might have been grand in the older times to pass through the passage of the mountain and take rest in the dormitory caves.
