Though the rock church is bigger in size, the current structure is the recent restoration after the damage in earth quake. We can enjoy the mountain atmosphere with the busy tourists in search of something.

Excellent to go at 8am because it is empty. Alternatively Sunday it is packed with locals in beautiful church clothes. If you arrive at 2pm you will have toke to see everything but closes sharply at 5pm no exceptions. Be mindful in Christendom this is one of the holiest places far more Holy than many things in Rome says a Catholic!

Lalibela is one of a must visit place when you visiting Ethiopia. One hour flight from Addis Ababa and it can be done on 24 hours trip. Bring Guide and prepare USD 50 for the entrance fee. It's worth to visit for lifetime experience.
