Great place and we are alone!

Such an amazing experience to live on top of the mountain in huts! I went in December, during fasting season. Staff Our guide Henok was so amazing! He took really good care of us and showed us around. He would anticipate our needs in advance and take care of them. He was very friendly and it was great hanging out with him! The rest of the staff were also very friendly and caring. They all gave us impeccable service. Food For breakfast you could have eggs or porridge with tea or coffee. Breakfast is included in the price. Both were delicious! For dinner, we got lentil soup with spinach which was absolutely delicious! And we had the options of vegetable rice, injera and shiro, or various pasta. Everything was amazing! Each meal, other than breakfast costs 100 Birr. They also have wine and water that you can buy from them. Location The views to and from the lodge are breathtaking! And of course from the lodge as well. I recommend making it before the sunset to watch it. #tip: The thing to watch out though is that it's about an hour hike up the mountain to get to the lodge. For those who aren't used to the altitude it can be hard. You can get a mule to ride on but it can be dangerous as the mule goes between rocks. I almost fell off had it not been for the two men holding me when the mule was climbing the rocks. Also bring your own toilet paper and prepare to potentially not shower. They have hot water for showering but you may not feel like it as it's cold in the mountain. Experience It can get quite cold up in the mountain so bring lots of clothes. The Sun is strong so you also need Sun screen or a hat. At night it gets very cold but they usually build a fire in one of the huts. They provide you with 4 or more blankets and a hot water bottle but wearing a sweater to bed really really helps. You can do a 10 hour hike to go see baboons but we didn't do that as it's not a guarantee that you'd see them. We instead went to a farmer's hut to see how they live and make coffee. Overall Highly highly recommend this experience and everyone is very nice and will take really good care of you.
