Gata Mosque

This is an important historical and spiritual Mosque in a village called Gata, in South Wollo, Ethiopia. The mosque was first founded by al-Hajj Bushra about the first decades of nineteenth century. The place initially served as a center for Sufi-order and Islamic education. However, now it only remains important as a Mosque and attracts annual pilgrimage. Shrine (of the celebrated Shaykh, mystic, and reformer, al-hajj Bushra) is found there too.
