Winta Hotel

Great friendly and helpful staff! A very simple place but clean and well kept. It's a little far from the old City but it's incredibly easy to get a bus or taxi out front. It's also right off the main road from Dire Dawa if you are coming from a shared bus like I was. Easy walk (about 20-25 min) to old City Gate downhill. Be aware power does seem to go out at least once a day here (this neighborhood) not sure if it's unique to only this part of town.

Very nice hotel with kind personnel. Daniel the director bought us some tablets when we were sick and offerd us the first diner. The guide attached at the hotel is very helpful and available with a lot of knowledge about Harar. We recommand this hotel of Harar.

We stayed here four nights. Rooms were comfortable and we slept well. WiFi worked well, laundry was a reasonable charge. The water heater provided hot showers without issue. Breakfast was things like eggs, pancakes - you choose one option - with fresh juice as well as coffee. Daniel (the owner) was brilliant - very kind and helpful. Solomon (tour guide) also went out of his way to make sure everything was ok. We took a city tour with him the day after we explored on our own, and he put everything into context. It was also great that he could translate, as the locals were really friendly! We also took a driver and guide to the camel market in Babille, which was brilliant. This time we had Nahom, who was patient with our many questions, and explained everything really clearly. Location is pretty good. At the moment, there isn't a tourist price for transport to the old city, so it was nice to be away from the main road and noise without being charged a ridiculous price to get there and back. Airport pick up/departure is extra, but a reasonable price for the distance. The only niggle, and the reason I've given 4 stars, was that the floors were not always so clean.Otherwise, it was perfect.

If you are in Harer it is the best place to stay because the place is clean, the rooms are wide enough, the bathroom's too, the owner serve you like a humble Waiter and cooker. We where friendly with the owner Daniel and he served us our dinner and lunch free. Thank you Dani

Any one can get Ethiopian hospitality from the owner and workers. The rooms are wide and well furnished. Guests can enjoy delicious food with a fair price.
