You can have Perfect view of Mekelle city from here. Meskel or the founding of the cross is being celebrated here.

The maountain of Chom'a is an esstern high plateau escarpment of Mekelle looking down the town. Its cliff is a good place for morning exercise. But more than that, Chom'a has been a good place to celebrate Mesqel, the finding of the true cross. In to this fact a 51 meter high cross has been erectect couple of years ago by a dedicated business man.

A mountain near Mekelle that has a nice top view to the city. At the top of the mountain a giant cross is erected and every year on Sep 26 evening a colorful Meskel holiday eve is celebrated on the top of the mountain mainly by the follows of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, and local and international tourists. According to Wiki, the holiday is to commemorate the discovery of the true cross by the Roman Empress Helena in the fourth century.
