Danakil Depression Tour

We traveled to Ethiopia with this year - our holiday advisory was super knowledgeable about the area and really listened to our exact requirements. The trip was absolutely one of the highlights of my life and it was all of the special little delights and special touches along the way that made it so. Highly recommended.

We had a brilliant time with Mickey the owner of Simien Mountain Trekking and Tours, which we organized through our colleague who has been working in NGO in Addis Ababa. The tour was very well organized, good value for money and tailor made to our needs. The tour started in Lalibela Bahir Dar, Gondar,Simien Mountains ,Tigray churches via Axum and ends in Danakil Depression . Everywhere the guides were all excellent and from local areas which we preferred as they are more knowledgeable, better able to give insight into culture in the local area and money are going back into the local villages, and gave us a very interesting insight into Ethiopian culture and life. Partly the northern part of Ethiopia is much better road than the south of Ethiopia but still some of the drive along the very bumpy road allows you to see Ethiopian country life and we had a great talk with our guide for each of city cultures. The food in simian mountain was cooked by Alemu,an early morning alemu served us a very delicious breakfast and he gave us many option like jam, honey ,pent butter portage ,egg sandwich ,tea ,coffee ,for lunch he provide us tuna sandwich and vegetable sandwich etc…and for dinner chicken ,rice with vegetable ,spaggeti with tomato sauce etc.. Over all Mickey kept his words that we agreed and gave us supper nice experience. We highly recommend this young and high responsible person for his job. We are not person who generally likes organized tours but this would have been difficult to do alone and we wouldn't have got such high quality guides. Mickey organized everything for us and it was all seamless. He's running a very good operation and is anxious to get the best experience for his customers, he checked in with us several times for feedback about the quality of the tour and guides, as much to see if they should be hired again I think as to see if we were happy. Whatever you need, he'll fix it for you!
