Sabawyan Hotel

I stayed one night in this hotel when heading to Michael Imba rock-church and Desa'a forest reserve in the middle of November 2019. It is the only hotel with standard service in the small town of Agula'e. I was satisfied by the cleanliness, quietness and the food served at breakfast. The small town of Agula'e serves as a gateway to eastern most rock-churches and monasteries and the buffering forest of Desa. More important in the history of salt mining, Agulae has been serving as a corridor to the huge salt reserves of Arho, past Berahle and the rest of Tigrai. Large camel caravans travel through the town to and from Arho. There is also an old palace of Emperor Yohannes IV at the southern outskirt of the town.
